19 September Bank Holiday - Law Library arrangements
Monday 19 September will be a Bank Holiday to coincide with the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and to mark the last day of the period of national mourning.
You will be aware that the courts will not sit on Monday 19 September as a mark of respect.
The exception will be for urgent business and emergency sittings, such as:
- Overnight custody cases, subject to the requirements of the Police and Criminal Evidence (NI) Order 1989.
- Time sensitive cases which, if not heard, create risks to the public or any one individual; or
- Matters of protection and injunction in the family and civil courts.

Accordingly, please note the following Bar Library service provision arrangements for Monday 19 September.
- The new Bar Library will be open and staffed by security from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Monday 19 September.
- The car parks, basement and surface will be open as normal.
- Catering will be unavailable.
Normal arrangements will resume on Tuesday 20 September.
