Congratulations to Kevin Rooney QC

Kevin Rooney QC was today sworn into office as a High Court Judge by the Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland Sir Declan Morgan.

Kevin was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1983. He was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in 2011 and specialised in civil litigation and legacy inquests, representing various Government Departments, Public Authorities, Health Boards and individual clients in numerous high profile cases. He also previously served as Chair of the Personal Injury Bar Association.

Chair of the Bar Council Bernard Brady QC said: “On behalf of everyone at the Bar, I warmly congratulate Kevin on his appointment as a High Court Judge. His contribution to the profession has been outstanding over many years and it has been a privilege working with him. I have no doubt that Kevin will serve the High Court Bench with immense distinction”.
