A History of the Chief Justices
As part of the series of lectures marking the history of the jurisdiction, Sir Declan Morgan will deliver a lecture on a History Of the Chief Justices at 5pm on 08 December.
The event will look at the 10 individuals who have held that position since 1921 up to the present day and the first Lady Chief Justice. It will also consider the circumstances and context in which their tenure took place.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions the lecture will be live streamed so that participants can view the lecture remotely. Those wishing to attend can register via eventbrite.
The Legal History Project is chaired by the Lady Chief Justice and see’s the judiciary work closely with the Bar of Northern Ireland and Law Society of Northern Ireland to co-ordinate a series of themed activities.
These will include shared reflections, spanning the History of the Judiciary, Women in Law, the origins of the legal profession in the jurisdiction and notable cases from the past century.
