Barristers run to raise over £16,000 for local charity
Barristers from the Bar Library of Northern Ireland have raised over £16,000 for their chosen charity of the year, Action Deaf Youth.
The stunning total was raised through the participation of eleven relay teams in the Belfast Marathon on Sunday 01 May.
Action Deaf Youth is the Bar of NI’s chosen charity for 2022 and works to improve the quality of life for young deaf people across Northern Ireland. The charity offers a range of mentoring, training and volunteer services for deaf children and their families.
Caroline Doherty is the Director of Action Deaf Youth and commented:
“We are amazed that 55 runners from the Bar gave up their Sunday to raise funds for us. As a small charity we are deeply grateful for the fantastic amount of money raised.
“This will help us to continue to deliver well being sessions for our deaf children and young people and their families in Northern Ireland.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported us.”
