Final Episode of Legal History Podcast Series now available

The Legal History Podcast series has been brought to its conclusion with an episode considering the unique relationship between the Northern Ireland legal system and the UK Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Justice Lord Ben Stephens is joined by Justice David Scoffield and Dr Tony McGleenan KC. Their informal and informative discussion covers a range of areas including appointment to the Supreme Court, the importance of its accessibility as well as the experience of appearing before the highest court in the UK, drawing on some notable cases.

The episode concludes the series which was commissioned by the Lady Chief Justice’s office and the Bar of Northern Ireland to reflect of 100 years of law in Northern Ireland.

Earlier episodes provided insight to various facets of the legal profession locally. These included life at the Young Bar, Women in the Law, a conversation with Northern Ireland’s first Lady Chief Justice and the Art and Architecture of the new Bar Library.
