ICO hosts GDPR Talk at Inn Of Court

Considering the pressing demands on the Information Commissioner’s Office to provide guidance and expertise on the GDPR to organisations, the |bar of NI were delighted to host a GDPR presentation by the ICO on Tuesday the 24th of April in the Inn of Court.

Dr Ken MacDonald, Head of ICO Regions was the keynote speaker, and gave a presentation on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Peter Hopkins BL, and Clare Bates Director of Legal Operations & Compliance at Carson McDowell also joined Dr MacDonald on the panel for a Q+A session.

Over 150 members of the Bar attended this important talk to hear directly from the ICO about their interpretation of how Data Controllers should be implementing the new regulations contained within the GDPR.
