BARRISTER & SOLICITOR LOG IN

Lord Kerr Bar Scholarship & QUB Bright Futures Collective

Lord Kerr’s family, in conjunction with Queens University Belfast (QUB) and with the support of the Bar Council, has recently launched the Lord Kerr Bar Scholarship.

The scholarship is specifically focused at QUB law students that come from underrepresented socio-economic areas. It will provide financial assistance to meet the costs for a student to attend the Bar course at the IPLS.

The Bar Council is proud to lend its financial and practical support to the creation of this scholarship.

In addition, the Bar Council has also agreed to support the QUB Bright Futures Collective over the next 3 years. This is a new initiative aimed at supporting talented young people to take up the study of law at QUB.

In addition to receiving financial assistance , participants on the programme also benefit from a series of workshops and a week-long residential programme at the University which the Bar will be delighted to participate in.

Both initiatives have been selected to coincide with the Bar marking its centenary throughout the current Legal Year as they afford an opportunity to inspire and support the next generation of barristers joining the profession.

Further information on the Bright Futures Collective is here.
