BARRISTER & SOLICITOR LOG IN

New Charity Partner Announced

The Bar’s charity partner for the coming year is Brain Injury Matters (NI), an independent regional third-sector organisation formed in 2013. It supports, promotes, and advocates on behalf of people living beyond acquired brain injury (ABI). The charity offers a range of programmes aimed at assisting those affected by ABI to become more independent, achieve their goals and adjust to life with brain injury.

Mark Conlon, Chair of the Bar’s Charity commented: “We are looking forward to partnering with Brain Injury Matters (NI) to not only raise much needed funds for their work but also to raise awareness around acquired brain injury. I have no doubt that our members will show our new charity partner the support and generosity they are renowned for.”

Claire Sullivan, Chair of the charity said: “On behalf of Brain Injury Matters, I am delighted that we have been selected as the Bar of NI’s charity for 2024. As a local charity in a difficult funding environment, this partnership will help raise funds to support the work we do to help support, promote, and advocate for people living beyond acquired brain injury (ABI) across Northern Ireland. We look forward to working with the Bar throughout the year, and to raising awareness of life after ABI.”

The Bar’s Charity Committee will undertake a number of fundraising initiatives in support of and in partnership with Brain Injury Matters (NI) during 2024.
