Passing of John Leckey

The Bar is saddened to learn of the passing of the former senior coroner for Northern Ireland, John Leckey.

John was appointed as a Coroner in 1992 and went on to hold the office of Senior Coroner until he retired in 2015. He presided over a significant number of complex and difficult inquests throughout his many years of service.

The Bar extends its condolences to Mr Leckey’s family and friends at this difficult time.
